Brantwood Nursing & Rehab Center Now Offers More Insurance Options

3/12/2014

OXFORD, NC (March 10, 2014) –Granville Health System (GHS) announced that Brantwood Nursing and Rehab Center is now an in-network facility for Blue Medicare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and United Healthcare.

“This change in status allows Granville Health System to provide additional access to quality medical rehabilitation right here in Granville County,” said CEO L. Lee Isley. “We look forward to a long partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and United Healthcare as we continue to provide outstanding service to our patients and our community.”

The new contracts will allow the facility to accept rehab patients with a Blue HMO plan, a Blue PPO plan or a plan from United Healthcare. Many insurance policies will cover a short stay at the facility for patients who require skilled nursing care or rehabilitation services, but the individual policy determines if it is a covered service. The length of the stay depends on the needs of the patient, as determined by the patient’s provider and the insurance carrier. Patients who need skilled nursing care are encouraged to contact Brantwood Nursing and Rehab Center at 919.690.3261 to verify insurance.

“Our rehab residents include those who are recovering from hip or knee replacement surgery, stroke patients or those who are suffering from general weakness,” said Brantwood Nursing and Rehab Center Administrator Tanya Mattingly. “These residents typically only need skilled nursing care for a short time and then they can return home.”

Short-term medical rehabilitation placement specialties include:

  • Status post fracture
  • Joint replacement
  • Functional recovery
  • Balance for fall prevention
  • Weakness after illness
  • Pneumonia
  • Wound management
