GHS Announces InQuicker Service
Granville Health System Offers New Online Check-in Program: InQuicker
OXFORD, NC (May 4, 2015) –Granville Health System (GHS) announced that it is offering a new online check-in service for Emergency Department and ExpressCare patients. InQuicker enables patients to bypass the traditional waiting room experience to see a provider for emergent care.
“Our new InQuicker service allows patients to have the same quality care and excellent customer service they expect from our Emergency Department and ExpressCare, but allows patients to avoid lengthy stays in the waiting room,” said L. Lee Isley, CEO of Granville Health System. “This type of health care delivery is very patient-centered and that is consistent with the mission and vision of the organization and its Board of Directors.”
Community members interested in online check-in can visit ghsInQuicker.com. The site also features a chart that helps patients make a decision between visiting the Emergency Department or the ExpressCare clinic.
“The possibilities are endless,” says Jason Brand, Administrative Director of Emergency Medicine. “Imagine a mom checking-in online so a child with a fever can wait on the couch watching cartoons. Patients can select a time on their own schedule, when it’s convenient. That’s what this service means to our patients: convenience.”
To access the InQuicker service:
1. Go to ghsInQuicker.com
2. Choose the GHS Emergency Department or ExpressCare at Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor
3. Choose your preferred time to visit
4. Fill out a short form
5. Wait in the comfort of your own home until your chosen time
As a safety measure, InQuicker is designed to recognize certain words and phrases that may indicate a potentially life-threatening medical condition. Those indicating a life-threatening medical condition are prompted to call 911 or go immediately to the nearest emergency department. As a precaution, the system will not allow these users to select a check-in time through the InQuicker program.
An onsite charge nurse receives all incoming InQuicker check-in notifications and reviews the patient’s symptoms. The nurse will call if there are any questions concerning the visit or the patient’s condition.
Upon their arrival, InQuicker users at ExpressCare will register through a separate reception line and be escorted to a room within 15 minutes. In the Emergency Department, InQuicker users will confirm their arrival at the front desk. InQuicker users will be brought to a room for treatment within 15 minutes of their arrival. In the event of a delay of projected treatment time, due to emergent situations at either facility, InQuicker users are sent real-time notifications via phone call or email so they can continue waiting at home.
“InQuicker is intended only for patients with non-life-threatening medical conditions,” said Brand. “It’s a convenient way for people with busy lives to access health care. It allows patients a better utilization of their time.”
The InQuicker option is available at www.ghsInQuicker.com. Patients can select which facility best meets their needs:
• The Emergency Department located at Granville Medical Center, 1010 College Street in Oxford
• ExpressCare located at Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor, 1614 NC Highway 56 in Butner
