GHS Unveils All New Local Photography

1/6/2014

OXFORD, NC (January 6, 2014) – Granville Health System (GHS) announced that Granville Medical Center is now featuring all new local photography throughout the first floor of the hospital.

Local photographer Sandra Cole Rodger, owner of Cole Rodger Photographics, captured the images throughout Granville County. As a community hospital, GHS wanted to ensure that the prints would showcase everything that Granville County has to offer including the rural landscape, unique architecture, and the area’s rich agricultural history. The photographs include images of Lake Rogers, tobacco barns from all over the county, silos, native plants, and farm crops.

The prints are displayed in the Emergency Department, Imaging, Outpatient Surgery and Laboratory waiting areas. All of these areas of the hospital are new or newly renovated.
GHS plans to expand the Granville County themed photography throughout the health system. Jason Brand, Administrative Director for Emergency Medicine, commented “We would like to incorporate Sandra’s photography throughout the system including Brantwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the three Granville Primary Care locations, Behavioral Health Services, and the newly renovated 102 Professional Park Drive. It’s a great way to celebrate the history of Granville County.”

The photographer, originally from Raleigh, now operates her own commercial studio in Oxford and enjoys exploring the Granville County country side. She commented, “Granville County community members are wonderful. The people that I have met so far have given me full access to their land, and have even given me new locations to check out. Everyone has been friendly and accommodating.”

“We are excited about this photography project and how it celebrates and highlights Granville County,” Brand added. “Granville Medical Center is a community hospital and the images reflect timeless architecture and foundation, farming traditions, and family legacy. The Granville County way of life portrayed in these photos highlights the community we serve. Our hope is that these images will create a pleasant waiting environment for our patients and families. By doing so, we continue our pursuit of excellence and quality care.”
