GHS Wins Five Aster Awards and Two Healthcare Advertising Awards for Excellence in Marketing

5/20/2010

Granville Health System (GHS) has been nationally recognized by the 2010 Aster Awards Program for excellence in health care marketing.

“Our marketing and communications team has achieved a top 5% national ranking in their award categories,” said L. Lee Isley, Chief Executive Officer for Granville Health System. “We are pleased to receive this recognition, especially in acknowledgement of our commitment to deliver quality community education programs through initiatives like our Kids Living Healthy program.”

Honored for advertising excellence, Granville Health System received a gold award for a Children's Health & Wellness Program with the health system’s Kids Living Healthy campaign. In addition, GHS was awarded the gold for excellence in an advertising campaign for a service line, Orthopedic Service, and for invitation design for the GHS Foundation’s Annual Royal Tea fundraising event.

GHS also garnered bronze awards for the GHS Foundation’s Annual Art Gala logo and collateral design and for the Foundation’s Community Fundraising Campaign.

“GHS is dedicated to delivering exceptional service and effective information to the community,” said Cristina N. Rigsbee, Senior Director of Ambulatory Services for Granville Health System. “The marketing team’s efforts support the GHS mission as we continue to provide quality care to the patients in the communities we serve.”

The Aster Awards, one of the largest competitions of its kind, is an elite national program that recognizes outstanding health care professionals for excellence in their advertising and marketing efforts. A gold recognition places Granville Health System in the top 5% of the nation as judged by the annual competition.

The 2010 Aster Awards consisted of approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States, Canada and South America.

Participant's entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Entries must score at least in the top 85 percent to receive an award. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

“We are pleased to be recognized by the health care industry for our work," said Scott Thomas, GHS Director of Marketing. “Our team is consistently looking for new and effective ways to develop communications programs for our health system. We are very proud of our work and of this achievement.

Entries in the Aster Awards were judged by a diverse panel of health care marketing experts. All winners are posted on the Aster Awards' website www.AsterAwards.com, as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national health care marketing magazine.

Last month, Granville Health System received two awards from the 2010 Healthcare Marketing Report Health Care Advertising Awards. GHS won a bronze for a Children's Health & Wellness Program for the health system’s “Kids Living Healthy” campaign and a merit award for the Art Gala’s Logo and letterhead design.
