Granville Health System Adds After-Hours Welcome Centers

10/11/2017

OXFORD, NC (October 11, 2017)

Granville Health System (GHS) recently announced after-hours Welcome Centers (kiosks) will be installed at Granville Medical Center and Brantwood Nursing & Rehab Center. The installation follows an upgrade to full-time security personnel at GHS.

The Welcome Centers are self-service units that dispense a self-adhesive badge with visitor’s name, photo and destination in the facility. Appropriate badge use will be monitored by security personnel and staff in each department.

Welcome Centers at Granville Medical Center will be located at the Emergency Department, nurse’s station on the medical floor, Intensive Care Unit, and the Labor & Delivery Unit. The Welcome Center at Brantwood Nursing & Rehab Center will be located at the front entrance. Guests and visitors will be asked to wear badges only when entering these areas after 8:00 pm.

“The Welcome Centers are designed to protect the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors,” said Jason Brand, Administrative Director for Emergency Medicine. “The Centers are very easy to use and will help us protect those in our care.”

The Center’s software is intuitive and user-friendly, with a touchscreen as well as visual and audio prompts at each screen. The technology is also multilingual, offering check-in service in Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), English (US), English (AU), English (UK), French (France), French (Canada), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Hindi, Kannada, and Japanese.

Visitors and guests of these areas are also asked to check out using the security technology; however, the badges feature a barcode that makes check out as quick and simple as scanning the barcode.

“Brantwood Nursing & Rehab Center remains committed to the safekeeping of our staff, our residents, and their visitors,” said Destiny R. Harris, Long-term Care Administrator. “We would like to thank the community in advance for your cooperation in protecting the security of our residents.”
