GRANVILLE HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION OFFERS “CULINARY TREASURES”

12/17/2010

After many months of collecting recipes from area residents, the Granville Health System Foundation is now selling a “Culinary Treasures” cookbook. Proceeds from the cookbook will benefit the Foundation, which is the fundraising arm of Granville Health System.

The beautiful spiral bound cookbook features over 300 mouthwatering recipes in seven different sections from local residents. Each recipe features the donor’s name, so everyone can easily locate the favorite recipes of their friends and neighbors. There is also an alphabetical list of recipe donors at the end of the book, following the recipe index.

In addition, the book contains many pages of helpful cooking hints, such as a table for cooking vegetables and ways to use herbs. The cookbook also presents a guide to healthy cooking and eating, featuring a food guide pyramid, nutrition facts, information on how to read food labels, and a calorie counter. It would be a wonderful addition for a new bride, a family’s cookbook collection, or a holiday gift.

The cookbooks will be sold by local business establishments, including Stovalls Gifts in Oxford, Quality Drug in Butner, and the Butner Creedmoor News in Creedmoor, and are also available from Foundation members: President Gary Bowman, William Adcock, Carolyn Blackwell, Lehman Brinkley, David Brooks, Rep. Jim Crawford, Carolyn Critcher, Jason Finch, Paul Kiesow, Harrison Simons, Marshall Tanner, John Wimbush, and Xavier Wortham. The cookbooks can also be purchased at the Granville Medical Center Gift Shop, 1010 College Street in Oxford.

The Granville Health System Foundation is proud to offer this fine cookbook to the public at $15.00 per copy. To have a copy mailed to someone as a holiday or special occasion present for an additional $5 shipping and handling charge, call Linda Grissom at 919.690.2149.
