Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor Welcomes Amy Nayo, MD

7/1/2017

Granville Health System (GHS) recently announced Amy Nayo, MD will be joining Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor (GPC-BC) later this month. Dr. Nayo is currently accepting new patients and provides comprehensive care from pediatric though adulthood.

Dr. Nayo is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her residency through the UNC School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Nayo is one of 12 Family Medicine Scholars selected by the North Carolina Academy of Family Practice (NCAFP) for demonstrating academic excellence, leadership and an interest in family medicine. In addition, she was a Louis and Betsy West Scholar. This scholarship is awarded to those intending to be family practitioners in rural areas of North Carolina and who are “industrious, of high moral character, maintain a high scholastic average, and have demonstrated their overall abilities.”

“Granville is pleased to welcome Dr. Nayo to a team of incredibly talented providers,” said L. Lee Isley, PhD, FACHE, CEO of Granville Health System. “She will be joining Dr. Elizabeth Baltaro and Jennifer Mahoney, FNP in expanding access to family medicine in southern Granville County, providing a complement of services in caring for entire families, ranging from pediatric to adult medicine.”

The arrival of Dr. Nayo to GPC-BC is part of a current overarching expansion of physician services occurring throughout Granville Health System. Recently, GHS has welcomed new providers in pediatrics, hospitalist services, surgical services and urology.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to practice family medicine in Granville County,” Nayo said. “My focus is on delivering quality, patient-centered care and being available for patients and all members of their families.  I know I share this commitment with Granville Health System. I truly look forward to joining GHS during this time of growth.”

Dr. Nayo is joining the practice at an exciting time. GPC-BC is currently undergoing the first phase of a long-range campus development plan, which includes the renovation and expansion of additional primary care and ExpressCare exam rooms, providing increased access and availability of visits.

The look and feel of the facility will change, with a newly renovated and expanded lobby and registration area with additional seating. There will also be a dedicated space for patient education and dietician consultations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nayo to Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor. We are pleased to be expanding our capacity for primary care visits,” said Cristina Carroll, COO of Granville Health System. “GHS is positioned to be responsive to our community, ensuring access to quality care is available. We look forward to continued growth in both pediatric and primary care.”
