GHS Earns Gold Award in International Competition
for Excellence in Senior Marketing

GHS was recently recognized for the health system’s marketing campaign, “MY HOSPITAL”, which featured Effie Currin, 101, from Oxford, NC.

The Generations Award is an international competition for excellence in senior marketing aimed at professionals who have communicated to the 50+ Mature Market. As part of its mission, the Generations Award supports the efforts of those who dedicate their outstanding talents towards reaching the senior community.

A panel of marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, and media professionals judged the 2011 entries. The panel evaluated each entry on their individual design, content, communication effectiveness, and overall excellence.

About the Campaign

As Granville Health System celebrated its 90th anniversary, 101-year-old Effie Currin of Oxford shared her story of how GHS has taken care of her and her family through the years. “Granville Health System and I were born about the same time! They’ve taken care of my family for more than five generations. I’m so happy to take part in wishing our wonderful community hospital a very happy 90-year celebration. Since 1920, they’ve provided the very best quality care and excellent customer service to our community.”

Ms. Currin’s story even has the governor’s office celebrating. Governor Beverly Perdue read about Ms. Currin’s story and as a result sent Ms. Currin a congratulatory note. “I read with interest in the Oxford newspaper your comments on the quality of care you and your family have received from your community hospital. Best wishes to you on reaching 101 years and I hope for you many more.”
