About Me

I joined Granville Primary Care in September 2015. My family moved often when I was growing up, and North Carolina was one of the few constant destinations I returned to every year of my life. My mom’s family has lived in North Carolina for generations.  I have always known I wanted to help people and initially planned to become a teacher. I majored in Religious Studies at Guilford College in Greensboro. Then I joined Peace Corps where I lived in rural Ukraine for 3 years. During that time I worked as a teacher and became involved in health projects. I realized I was most passionate about individual teaching and promoting health.  I returned home to pursue my medical degree at Tufts University in Boston. I completed residency training at UNC Family Medicine in Chapel Hill. I enjoy getting to know patients and their families, and have interests in full scope care from birth to death— including prenatal care, pediatrics, skin conditions, office procedures, mental health, nutrition and keeping my patients healthy. I am married to a dietitian husband, mom of twins and member of Friends Meeting. I enjoy family gatherings, cooking, reading and exercise classes.
