Expectations of Employees
Granville Health System (GHS) is a center for caring, cost-effective, quality health care services and in the cornerstone of the community health services network in Granville County. For the organizations to be successful, it is important for all employees to obey applicable federal and state laws, meet their job requirements, and follow HIPAA regulations. By doing so, employees will create an atmosphere where patients are happy and well cared for an employees will fulfill and enrich their own lives.
We expect all employees to uphold the ethical, moral and legal standards established by our organization. To accomplish this, it is important that each individual becomes familiar with the guidelines that have been established and that your conduct meets this standards.
Why Report Violations?
If you believe a violation of company policy or law has occurred, it is essential that you notify a member of management or call the toll-free ValuesLine. Violations of GHS's policies and standards can destroy our reputation, open us to litigation and, as a result, hurt you and your coworkers. If you act quickly, you can prevent these violations from endangering your own and the organization's future.
How to Report Violations
To report violations, suspected violations, or any activity you believe could damage the organization's reputation, you may contact any of the following:
- Your supervisor
- Senior leaders
- Human resources
- The Granville Health System Compliance Officer (919.690.3459)
- The toll-free ValuesLine at 1.800.273.8452 (You can remain anonymous if you wish)
What is the Toll-Free ValuesLine?
We want you to feel comfortable reporting violations, suspected violations, or any activity you believe could damage GHS's reputation, without fear of retaliation. To encourage this, we have contracted with a third party to give you a convenient and confidential way to call. ValuesLine is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Although you may give your name if you want to, you are not required to identify yourself.
What Happens When You Call?
A trained Communications Specialist at ValuesLine will answer your call, listen and make notes of your concern. Be assured your call will never be recorded or traced. If necessary, the Communications Specialist may ask follow-up questions to gather additional information. You will receive a unique identification number and a follow-up date at the end of the call. You will be called about the results of your concern on the assigned date.
After Your Call
After your call, the Communications Specialist prepares a report which is forwarded to GHS's Compliance Officer for review and investigation. Feedback on the issues raised in your report is provided to the Communications Specialist at the ValuesLine, and this information is relayed to you. If you prefer to remain anonymous, your identity is protected throughout the process.
