GHS Unveils Remodeled South Granville Medical Center

Granville Health System (GHS) recently held a ribbon-cutting for the newly remodeled South Granville Medical Center. The building is the home of Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor as well as Granville ExpressCare and the Granville Occupational Medicine Program.

“There is a need for increased access to quality primary care in this area,” said Cristina R. Carroll, Chief Operating Officer.  “I’m pleased that our Board of Trustees made it a priority to identify proactive ways to increase access to providers and patient appointment times, as well as reducing the wait time to see a doctor.”

The remodeling project adds 6 additional exam rooms for primary care and ExpressCare providers to work collaboratively and simultaneously. These additional exam rooms allow for a considerable increase in patient visits. They also reduce waiting times for an appointment.

There will also be a dedicated area for testing and screenings offered in the occupational medicine program. These additions will help local businesses put their employees to work in a timelier fashion as it eliminates the need for travel outside of the county.

“This is just one example of how GHS will be identifying ways to continue working with local businesses in strengthening their corporate occupational medicine and wellness programs, therefore reducing their costs in providing care to their employees and their families,” said Carroll.

The funding for the project comes from the Granville Health System Foundation. The Foundation pledged $600,000 over the next few years to support this project.

“Access to care is vital to the health of our community and GHS is assuring that we will be able to continue delivering the highest quality care in the area,” said CEO John F. Snow. “We greatly appreciate the Board of Trustees and the GHS Foundation for helping us meet the future health care needs in the areas we serve.”
