Eighth Annual GHS Foundation Art Gala Offers a Night of Celebration
OXFORD, NC (November 7, 2016) – The Granville Health System (GHS) Foundation will host its eighth annual Art Gala on Saturday, November 19 at Thorndale Oaks.
Gary Bowman, Chairman of the Foundation, said, “Our theme this year is ‘The Art of Living in the Moment’ and we have planned a terrific event to support our community hospital.”
“This community has done a great deal to support their local hospital,” said Martha Wrenn, Chairman of the Art Gala. “The Foundation is pleased to bring this event back to Granville County.”
The Art Gala will feature more than 70 live and silent auction items. Trip packages for Montana, Washington DC, and Newport, RI will be featured.
Highlights of the sporting events offered include tickets to football and basketball games as well as hockey, hunting and golfing packages.
Many visual, culinary, and performing art items will also be offered, along with jewelry, photography and other art forms. They include tickets to shows at McGregor Hall, Granville Little Theater and the Durham Performing Arts Center. Yeti coolers, a private tour of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, an original painting by Anna Cate Home, and NC goodies from Ashley Jordan Flowers and Gifts are also featured on the auction. The black tie optional event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with music by the Arlin Tart Quartet, FORcocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by a delicious dinner. Dessert consists of a vanilla panna cotta with candied cranberries, cinnamon pear sauce and pumpkin compote by Harvest Restaurant Head Chef and Owner James Dutra. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.

The Granville Health System Foundation previously raised $500,000 to support the construction of a new Emergency Department at Granville Medical Center. Recently, the Foundation committed $300,000 toward the purchase of a new CT scanner.
