Granville Ambulance Chase Announces Results
The eighth annual Granville Ambulance Chase & Food Truck Rodeo announced the official results of the community event held on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
The overall first place winner in the 10K race was Taylor Adams of Chapel Hill, NC. Taylor finished the 10K (6.2 miles) in 39.28 minutes.
Hana Baskin was the top female finisher in the 10K at a race time of 39.53 minutes. This is Hana’s 7th year as a top finisher in the Ambulance Chase.
In the 5K race, Daniel Hill was the overall 1st place winner. Ten-year-old Genevieve Keigley of Oxford was the top female finisher. This was Genevieve’s 2nd year in a row as a top finisher.
More than 300 people participated in the event, which included the 10K competitive, 5K competitive and 5K Fun Run, the 1 Mile Family Walk and the Kids Dash. Over 100 volunteers from Granville Health System and the community assisted with the event. Girl Scout Troop #1119 who provided the three water stations along with race routes. About 2,500 people attended the Food Truck Rodeo which featured 11 food and beverage vendors and live music by Big Love.

Race registration fees benefited the Granville Health System Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to serve as a charitable resource for Granville Health System, supporting its commitment to provide quality health care to all citizens of the community, where they work and live. The Foundation builds support for GHS and provides financial resources to purchase new equipment, develop new services, maintain and improve facilities, and recruit new health professionals to Granville County.
Additional funds were raised through corporate sponsorships, community donations, and GHS employee fundraising efforts. GHS employees alone raised more than $18,000 prior to the race through fundraising activities held on the GHS campus in the weeks leading up to race day.

The event was organized by the Granville Ambulance Chase Steering Committee which is made up of community members, Granville Health System medical staff and employees, GHS Foundation board members, local law enforcement, and downtown Oxford business owners.
