Granville Health System Announces 2024 4th Quarter DAISY Award® Honoree
Granville Health System has announced its fourth quarter winner of the DAISY award. Sarah Thomas, RN was awarded The DAISY Award® on January 23, 2025. Sarah, a nurse in our Emergency Department, was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient’s family member.
“Within a few weeks, two of my loved ones ended up needing to seek medical attention. It is never a good feeling when you get a call from loved ones being sick, especially during the holidays. It is even harder when you’re in the healthcare field. You automatically try to help by diagnosing and fixing them. Sarah not only had to deal with me once, but twice. Lucky for her! Sarah was very helpful in explaining to my loved ones what was happening and their plans of care. She answered their questions efficiently and walked them through each of the medications or tests being done to ensure they understood. They were able to understand what was being done and explain it to me. My feelings of worry quickly eased off feeling that they were in good hands. Sarah listened to our concerns and was a patient advocate to ensure thorough care was performed.”
The Award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize nurses for the extraordinary, compassionate care they provide patients and families every day. Granville Health System is among many healthcare organizations participating in The DAISY Award program.
