Granville Health System Announces 3rd Quarter DAISY Award® Honoree
OXFORD, NC, November 15, 2023 – Granville Health System has announced its third quarter winner of the DAISY award. Trey Wright, RN was awarded The DAISY Award® on November 7,2023. Trey, a nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient.
“I had an incredible nursing team to help me through this. Trey, Kristen, Melissa, Bettie, Alicia and Tammy are angels on earth. They helped me during every step of my recovery in the hospital. They brought uplifting joy and their high level of professionalism to my bedside every day. I felt like a human that mattered to them. But Trey was especially loving, caring, patient, comforting and kind to me. I had a fever spike on Saturday evening. Once everyone left and things settled down, I started to cry. I was so embarrassed when Trey came in to check on me. I tried to hide my face from him. Instead of dismissing my feelings, he held my hand and let me weep and comforted me until I felt better. I will never ever forget that incredible act of kindness that he showed me late that night. He was a light during my darkest moment. I feel blessed to have crossed paths with this incredible human being.”
The Award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day. Granville Health System is among many healthcare organizations participating in The DAISY Award program.
