Granville Health System Asks for Donations of Medical Supplies
Granville Health System (GHS) is asking for donations of disposable medical protective supplies as the novel coronavirus COVID-19 is disrupting supply chains throughout the country. The organization is working through its vendors to acquire the needed supplies, but as the number of cases increase, supplies are running low.
“We have already had several businesses and groups that have approached us with a desire to help in some way,” said CEO John F. Snow. “We do have some critical supply needs and expect this to continue for the foreseeable future.”
The health system asks community groups for donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Their PPE needs include:
- Disposable masks, particularly N95 masks
- Disposable gloves, all sizes
- Disposable gowns
- Face shields
Individuals or groups that would like to donate PPE to Granville Health System should contact Shields Blackwell at 919.690.2148.
Monetary donations to be used to purchase supplies, medical supplies, and medical equipment are also appreciated at this time.
As a reminder, community members that have a fever and symptoms of a respiratory infection and are seeking medical care should call ahead to their primary care clinic or the Emergency Department to arrange for care.
The best way to protect yourself against any virus is frequent hand-washing, covering your cough or sneeze, and social distancing of at least 6 feet.
