Granville Health System Awards First Recipient of The DAISY Award®

Granville Health System has announced its first recipient of the DAISY award. Mckenzie Porterfield, RN was awarded The DAISY Award® on July 27,2023. Mckenzie, a nurse in the Emergency Department, was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient.

“I would like to nominate Mckenzie Porterfield. I recently received care in the Emergency Department of Granville Health System for Vertigo/nausea and Mckenzie was my nurse. She was very nice, respectful, knowledgeable and helpful, which made my visit at this hospital uneventful. Thank you, Mckenzie, so much for your wonderful care!”

The Award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s mission to recognize the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care they provide patients and families every day. Granville Health System is among many healthcare organizations participating in The DAISY Award program.

“It is my honor to present our first DAISY Award to Mckenzie,” said Ann Marie Holtzman-Wheeler, Chief Nursing Officer, Granville Health System. “She has demonstrated exceptional nursing care and we are grateful for her commitment to care for our patients in the communities that we serve.”
