Granville Health System Employees “Pave the Way” in Support of Community Health

Granville Health System (GHS) announced the organization is conducting an employee giving campaign from July 13 to August 14. The campaign, “Paving the Way,” will benefit the Granville Health System Foundation and a portion of the money raised will be used to construct a brick walkway leading to the entrance of the new GHS Emergency Department. Employees who sponsor a brick for the walkway may have their name, or a name of their choosing, imprinted on the brick. The new construction is slated to begin in 2010.

“By paving the way to our future, employee donations will directly impact the quality of care that Granville Health System provides, through patient care services, health education and vital equipment purchases,” said L. Lee Isley, Chief Executive Officer for Granville Health System.

“Campaign donations, and a belief in the mission of Granville Health System, illustrate our employees’ commitment to help improve lives throughout our local communities.”

In mid-June, Granville Health System filed an application for a major expansion of Granville Medical Center’s Emergency Department with the Certificate of Need section of the Division of Health Service Regulation of North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services.

Gary Bowman, Chairman of the Granville Health System Foundation, explained that the commitment shown by GHS employees underscores the value the organization places on community support. “Under the leadership of L. Lee Isley, we’ve seen Granville Health System move in a very positive direction,” said Bowman. “The dedication GHS employees have shown illustrates their position as true community health partners and highlights a desire to improve the Health System through quality initiatives like this giving campaign.”

Employees that participate in the giving campaign will receive a “Paving the Way” pin, and those who sponsor a brick for the employee walkway will be honored on a campaign mural that will be posted in the existing emergency department during the campaign.

“Granville Health System is a true community health system,” said L.C. Adcock, Chairman of the GHS Board of Trustees. “The employee giving campaign is a prime example of how GHS values the trust and support the residents of Granville County and surrounding areas have provided. If you see an employee wearing a “Paving the Way” pin, please thank that individual, because he or she has made an effort to do what GHS employees do on a consistent basis—go above and beyond the scope of their regular duties in support of our community.”
