Granville Health System Foundation Holds 2009 Art Gala in Support of the GHS Expansion Plan
The Granville Health System (GHS) Foundation will host the first annual Granville Health System Art Gala on Saturday, November 21, at the Granville County Shrine Club located at 706 Roxboro Road, Oxford. The event begins at 6:00pm and is black-tie optional.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the GHS Foundation in supporting Granville Health System’s mission to promote and advance the well being of area residents. Specifically, the money raised through the gala will help fund the Granville Health System Expansion Plan.
In mid-June, Granville Health System filed an application for a major expansion of Granville Medical Center’s Emergency Department with the Certificate of Need section of the Division of Health Service Regulation of North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services. The new construction is slated to begin in 2010.
“The community support we are receiving for the Art Gala is impressive,” said L. Lee Isley, Chief Executive Officer for Granville Health System. “It reflects the importance our area places on the health system’s role in providing residents with the very best medical care. We certainly appreciate the many local businesses and community leaders that have offered their time and resources as we move forward with the GHS Expansion Plan.”
The Gala will begin with a cocktail hour, including open bar and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner will begin at 7pm, followed by a live art auction. Throughout the course of the evening, guests will have the opportunity to view items up for auction, as well as architects’ renderings of the upcoming Granville Health System Expansion Plan, including the new Emergency Department. Bidding for the main art auction will begin at 8:15pm. Auction items will include donations from various local artists and those with ties to the community.
