Granville Health System Joins “Light it Blue” Campaign

Granville Health System is illuminating the front entrance to Granville Medical Center as part of the “Light it Blue” campaign to recognize and thank front-line workers: first responders, health care workers, and all others that are keeping our community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are so proud of our team at GHS and all of those who are supporting the needs of our community during this global crisis,” said CEO John F. Snow. “Healthcare workers and first responders everywhere have demonstrated incredible bravery and professionalism while performing their jobs. Participating in the ‘Light it Blue’ campaign helps us show our appreciation for their work.”

Granville Health System joins a number of cities around the world who are illuminating national landmarks, entertainment venues, historic buildings and businesses as part of the “Light it Blue” campaign.  The City of Oxford joined the “Light it Blue” movement with the Oxford Fire Department being lit in blue each evening.  “The City of Oxford is proud to join this campaign to show support for our essential workers and front-line heroes during this unprecedented time,” said Oxford Mayor Jackie Sergent.

The “Light it Blue” campaign started in the United Kingdom in April and has become a global movement for businesses and government agencies to honor those on the front lines of the pandemic fight.
