Granville Health System Joins Nationwide Observance of National Rural Health Day on November 18, 2021

Granville Health System (GHS), one of North Carolina’s leading rural healthcare providers, will join the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and other state/national rural stakeholders in celebrating National Rural Health Day on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

“Granville Health System is proud to recognize the innovation, quality of care, and dedication of health professionals and volunteers in our community during National Rural Health Day 2021,” said John Snow, CEO, Granville Health System. “It is important to recognize the efforts of those serving the health needs of an estimated 57 million people living in rural and frontier communities throughout the United States.”

Events, including those held virtually, recognizing National Rural Health Day and “Celebrating the Power of Rural” are being planned throughout the nation. In Oxford, GHS is celebrating the “Power of Rural” through its efforts to promote community wellness and nutrition:

GHS is hosting access to flu and COVID-19 vaccines for its staff and community members
Leading into the Thanksgiving holiday, GHS is participating in a weeklong food drive with Area Congregations in Ministry, a local nonprofit charity that provides food to more than 750 people each week in Granville County.

“Small towns, farming communities and frontier areas are wonderful places to live and work; they are places where neighbors know each other and work together,” said Teryl Eisinger, CEO, National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health.
