Granville Health System Names Daniel Rigg, RN, 2025–2026 Nurse of the Year
Granville Health System is proud to announce Daniel Rigg, RN, as the recipient of the 2025–2026 Nurse of the Year Award. A valued member of the GHS team, Daniel is being recognized for his outstanding dedication, clinical excellence, and unwavering support of both patients and colleagues.
Each year, Granville Health System honors one nurse whose contributions exemplify the highest standards of compassionate care, professionalism, and leadership. Daniel’s nomination highlighted his extensive knowledge, calm demeanor, and remarkable ability to support his team in the fast-paced and ever-changing environment of emergency medicine.
“Daniel is the kind of nurse every team hopes to have,” said Kelly Harmon, Chief Nursing Officer at Granville Health System. “His steady presence, willingness to help others, and commitment to excellent patient care make him an invaluable part of our Emergency Department. He leads by example every single day.”
While working in the Emergency Department, Daniel was nominated by a colleague, who described him as a “hidden gem” and praised his steady leadership, resourcefulness, and willingness to support those around him. In her nomination, she highlighted Daniel’s ability to remain calm and dependable in high-pressure situations, noting that he is often the person teammates turn to for guidance, problem-solving, and encouragement. She also recognized the positive impact he has on department morale and patient care, emphasizing that his dedication, knowledge, and collaborative spirit make him an essential part of the team.
