Granville Health System Names New CEO
John F. Snow named as GHS Chief Executive Officer
The Granville Health System (GHS) Board of Trustees announced it has selected John F. Snow as its Chief Executive Officer. Snow will begin his new position on August 13, replacing former CEO L. Lee Isley who resigned in March to accept the position of President and CEO of Nash UNC Health Care in Rocky Mount, NC.
“I look forward to working with the board, medical staff and employees in continuing the health system’s commitment to provide quality care for this area,” said Snow. “My family and I are eager to join this community.”
Snow recently served as Vice President of Ancillary and Support Services at Iredell Health System in Statesville, NC. He previously served as CEO of Blue Ridge Community Health Services in Hendersonville, NC and CEO of Spalding Regional Medical Center and Sylvan Grove Hospital in Griffin, GA.
“We are pleased to welcome John Snow to Granville Health System,” said L. C. Adcock, Chairman of the GHS Board of Trustees. “He brings more than 25 years of progressive hospital and health care experience along with an innovative and creative leadership style that will be a great fit for our community and health system.”
Snow earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management in Irving, TX after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Management and Health Care Administration from the University of North Carolina, Asheville.
Most recently, Snow received a Master of Management in Clinical Informatics from the Duke University School of Medicine where his course of study focused on the use of information technology and health care data to improve performance and generate innovation in the business of health care.
“Granville Health System looks forward to welcoming John Snow to our community,” said Interim CEO Cristina Carroll. “Granville prides itself on delivering quality, innovative health care. As GHS continues to expand services and access to care, John’s proven approach to leadership and vast experience in strategic organizational development will allow Granville to continue its mission as the essential health care leader for the communities it serves.”
Snow joins Granville Health System as it continues to expand its services throughout Granville County, offering convenient access to medical care where its patients work and live.
During recent years, GHS has expanded access to primary care throughout the area, adding providers at Granville Primary Care, Oxford and Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor. Both practices offer Saturday hours at both locations as well as convenient online appointment scheduling. Current renovations at Granville Primary Care, Butner-Creedmoor will provide more exam rooms and shorten wait time for a primary care appointment.
The expansion of services also includes specialty care. GHS has increased access to general surgery, orthopaedic services and most recently, the system has opened Granville Gastroenterology Associates. Led by Dr. Albin Abraham, the practice is located on Granville Health System’s main campus and opened on July 2.
“Granville’s continued commitment to expand quality services and develop a premier medical staff has established a wonderful local resource, providing exceptional care for our community,” said Joseph Zola, MD, GHS Chief of Medical Staff. “Mr. Snow shares this commitment in providing a high level of health care.”
