Granville Health System Receives Generous Gift from Local Philanthropist
Granville Health System (GHS) gratefully acknowledges the charitable gifts given by the estate of local businessman and philanthropist Harold L. Sherman and his family. The donations, totaling $174,000, will be used to further GHS’s mission to provide the community it serves with the very best health care delivered with compassion and pride.
“On behalf of Granville Health System, I want to express my appreciation to the Harold Sherman family for their generosity,” said L. Lee Isley, Chief Executive Officer for Granville Health System. “Harold Sherman’s legacy embodies philanthropy in its truest form,” continued Isley.
An active supporter of his community and a Granville County native, Sherman was owner and operator of Morton & Sherman Implement Company, a member of Delrayno Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran. In 1997, the Harold Sherman Adult Day Center was developed and added to the campus of Granville Medical Center.
“Mr. Sherman’s donation is an investment in the future of Granville Health System,” said L.C. Adcock, Chairman of the GHS Board of Trustees. “It reflects his dedication to the people of this community by supporting and enhancing the environment for people living here.”
