Sixth Annual GHS Foundation Art Gala
OXFORD, NC (November 11, 2014) – The Granville Health System (GHS) Foundation will host its sixth annual Art Gala on Saturday, November 22 at the Henderson Country Club.
“Rolling Out the Red Carpet: An Evening of Gratitude” will be the underlying theme of the Gala, which will feature more than 80 live and silent auction items. Trip packages for Nashville, Kiawah Island, Quebec City and Carolina Beach will be featured, as well as quick getaway trips, including a visit to the Biltmore House.
Highlights of the sporting events offered include tickets to college basketball games as well as hunting and golfing packages.
Many visual, culinary, and performing art items will also be offered, along with custom jewelry and other art forms. They include tickets to shows at the NC Theatre and the NC Symphony, handcrafted pottery, original paintings, antique art glass, cooking classes, an afternoon with Santa Claus, and a stay at an upscale bed and breakfast.

The lively black tie event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with music by the Arlin Tart Quartet, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by a scrumptious dinner featuring hand-cut filet mignon served with crab-stuffed shrimp. Also being served is a stewed tomato and fresh chive risotto croquette with baby spinach sauteéd with smoky bacon. Dessert consists of a butterscotch cheesecake with an almond crust and butterscotch crunch topping prepared by Harvest Restaurant Head Chef and Owner James Dutra. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.
Gary Bowman, Chairman of the Foundation, said, “Our theme this year is ‘Rolling Out the Red Carpet’ and that’s really what we’re doing. We are so appreciative of this community and their support of the Foundation and our partnership with Granville Health System. This is our chance to show our gratitude.”
