Statement from the Granville Health System Board of Trustees
The Granville Health System Board of Trustees announced today that the Executive Committee has placed Chief Executive Officer Adam McConnell on administrative leave. Chief Human Resources Officer Melanie Hobgood has been appointed acting CEO, effective immediately.
We recognize this announcement may raise questions, and we want to assure our patients, employees, medical staff, and the community that this personnel matter is unrelated to the hospital’s financial health, day-to-day operations, or the quality of care we provide. Our physicians, nurses and staff continue to deliver the high-quality care our patients expect every day.
“Our responsibility is to ensure Granville Health System continues delivering the safe, high-quality care our community depends on,” said board chair David Smith. “Our commitment to the community remains as strong as ever, and we have full confidence in Melanie Hobgood’s leadership during this transition.”
Because this is a confidential personnel matter, the Board cannot comment further on the circumstances surrounding this decision. Additional information will be provided if and when it is appropriate to do so.
